the dirty dirty, an independent art space in ditmas park brooklyn run by martha clippinger

The Dirty Dirty is a basement gallery in Ditmas Park, Brooklyn that functions as an alternative exhibition space, a place for collaborations, and a site for artists to work outside of their everyday studio practices. Founder Martha Clippinger aims to encourage outsider attitudes towards art production and distribution through this open-ended forum for making, performing, collaborating, and exhibiting artwork. Recent shows and activities at the dirty dirty include: The Yard Show, Yardt Sale, Fungusamongus, Panel Discussion, Superbowl drawing party, and more. Upcoming event includes October 30th exhbit of Elegies by Anthony Viti. Also featuring Aesthletics and a Reading by Ura, and a celebration of Anne Percoco's birthday. The telephone project: As if playing a game of telephone, this project begins with the work of an artist who then passes it on to another artist who responds to that piece by creating a new piece that is passed on to another artist who responds to that piece by creating a new piece that is passed on, and so on, and so on.
